This is byfar one of the most interesting projects I’ve seen today. New York Times had a post encouraging people to take a picture of anything May 2 (15:00) to create a world collage of that day and time. There’s tons of pictures to put it lightly, take some time and view it, gives a perspective of how big our world really is.
Check it out: search in Google “A Moment in Time, NY Times”
Here is the new (and final) artwork for my project “The Audition EP”!!!
The reason why I chose to change the artwork is because I felt the previous artwork was too safe. No one was mad at it. No one said “what the fuck is this?” Anyone can have a picture of themselves with text, and for a second I let myself fall into the norm.
Ive recorded over 40 songs since the release of the first artwork and tracklisting, and the entire project has gone in a different direction. It shows more of my personality than anything Ive ever done, and the artwork needed to showcase my personality as well. I truly, 100%, without a doubt believe that “The Audition” will be one of the top 10 projects of 2010! I really want to say top 5, but the blogosphere would go CRAZY….lol. But Ive put A LOT of work into this project. Its hip hop! More hip hop than anything Ive done prior….and on March 23rd, everyone will get to judge for themselves!
French animation is killing, this is a short animated project from 5 students of the school Gobelins l’école de l’image in Paris, France. Similar in style to the popular Disney style, it’s awesome. It’s also about Pirates, which are in the Top 10 of fantasy lives. More info on the people behind this project can be found at www.pyrats.net
Sometimes staying up late on iChat, people can send you really creepy messages…or really cool ones. In this case, my friend Makensy sent me this REALLY cool vid.
The first commercial for my “The Audition EP”! Shot by The Mighty Fifty!! This commercial is visually amazing, and not just because Im in it (partly because of it..lol).
This commercial basically expresses EXACTLY how I was feeling creating “The Audition”…and it literally just blows my mind!!!
Just a little backstory….I’ve known Mann for a few years now, and we’ve become family. I’ve watched him grow and mature as not just an artist but as a man, and I’m ridiculously proud of him dropping his first mixtape today!
For those who don’t know, he comes from West LA, California…and is signed to Mercury/Def Jam by way of the hit-making powerhouse Beluga Heights.
Support good music, support a good person, and support what we’re doing over here on the west coast! We’re done with that gangsta/drug dealing nonsense! We make good music, and this mixtape proves it! Enjoy.
Luke Sharrett, a photojournalism major from Western Kentucky University, went all the way to Washington last year this day to try and capture and witness the inauguration of now President Obama. Problem, dude wasn’t able to get in. With the millions crowding to see this historic event and without proper credentials, left him with a non favorable position.
Turning this sour positioninto an opportunity, he went around the city to record it and captured the vibe of the city during this day. Now Luke’s an intern in The Times’s Washington bureau and decided there to do a contrast with then and now. The difference, not much, besides the amounts of foot traffic and trash, the place is much the same. Luke added an analogy saying “As we begin the second year of Mr. Obama’s presidency,” he said, “it seems that hope and change are harder to come by than we thought.”
